about

Osinihcam Orchestra originate from Sydney, Australia. Auz is a land far, far away and the music contained in this 3 track Ep is best described as fringe jazz.

Being an improvised session, with practically no way to separate instruments scattered around a single studio, it's evident there was a lot of listening going on.

The opening track "Boxing With The Robot" is a rolling wave of electronics, drums, flute, horns and vibraphone. Being tied down to technology makes a human want to break free - at some point or another. This is one such occasion.

The second is an ode to "Lint: The Shedding Of". It's got spoken word, water, sunshine?, insects?, lint, a spin dryer? Ben Hingley ponders lint while the band listen on. As usual, they can't help themselves and take Ben's spiel on a journey of jazz-hippie dimensions.

Last is "Once, Days Began At Night". It conjures up certain images for me. I don't know about you but I'm reminded of the days when jazz played around Sydney Town frequently. I remember waking in the afternoon, dragging my kit on public transport and just making it on time to the gig - while the patrons rave on as the band kicks in. I can almost smell it.

Please Enjoy,
OSINIHCAM Orchestra.
