about

MACHINISO (pronounced ma-kin-eeso or mash-in-eeso) was formed in 2008 by Rich D'Addona in Kings Cross, NSW. Originating as an improv-mutimedia act, it morphed into a jazz-based soul act with burlesque and cinematic influences.

The lyrics of Jimmy Vargas were matched beautifully with a classic band sound that pushed vibraphone back into vogue for a younger inner-city audience.

In 2010, Anne-Lise Larsen filled the vocals position and the band continued until 2014 when a break was called.

This release showcases a number of original compositions that sit in limbo. While there is no current line-up or gigs, never say never.

A collaborative album of original, jazz-based soul, with cinematic undertones and dramatic, tongue-in-cheek overtones.
